Changes:
- The social class of the Mughal Empire was less focused on the caste system and shifted into a feudal structure( mansabdari system).
- The middle class was a new development for the area that would become significant during the period of British India.
- Middle class was made up of merchants, industrialists and other professionals.
- Girls in the middle class were sent to public schools with boys.
- Girls in the upper class were granted an education but were pushed to be tutored instead of pushed to attend public schools.
- The improvement of women was evident with a painting of Krishna who is admiring a mortal woman.
- The emperor was the head of society and had a final say in every decision.
- Under the king were the nobles who were equal with the zamindars (aristocrats).
- The Mughal nobles, due to their high position had a monopoly on a major portion of the jobs in the area.
- The highest ranking officer in the Mughal Empire was the wazir (prime minister).
- The chief revenue officer known as the diwan were directly under the wazir.
- The bakshi, who handled the revenue system and recruited officers for the army and the administration, and various other ministers were under the diwan.
- Another important officer was the sadr who appointed judges and awarded grants.
