Continuities:
- The lower class was still not allowed to have upward mobility which shows the principles of the caste system were infused with the current Mughal social structure.
- Despite the fact that women were granted rights in education, the social practice of sati (child marriage and dowry) remained in the area.
- Akbar tried to reform this social principle but was unsuccessful. Sati according to experts worsened due to the attempted reforms of Akbar and in the 18th century the social principle escalated.
